This resource has been trialled and used in p4 and p5 classes in Northern Ireland,But i think it would work well throughout the keystage. Shared education in Northern Ireland was designed to bring schools from different traditions together. The Design of this Shared Education Module is to bring children together and show them how cinema began ,whilst allowing them the opportunity to become filmmakers. In the same way we encourage children to become writers and create their own stories after reading books. We should take the time to show how stories can also be told in a visual way. Hugo has often been referred to as Martin Scorsese’s love letter to Cinema. It is an excellent way into the Early History of Modern Cinema for Children.
